Stephon Marbury on Michael Vick

This interview with Stephon Marbury discussing the Michael Vick dog fighting case really pisses me off for a few reasons.

"We don't say anything about people that shoot deers or shoot other animals. From what I hear dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors. And I think it's tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down. I think he's one of the superb athletes and I think he's a good human being. I just think he fell into a bad situation."
Aside from the childish vocabulary with his use of "deers" the first part of the interview just shows how ignorant Marbury is. Dogfighting is nowhere near being a sport. It is a brutal and heartless spectacle and comparing it to hunting is absurd. Hunters don't go out drown, mutilate and electrocute animals just because they don't live up to their expectations. Then he goes on to say that he is, "one of the superb athletes". What the hell does being an great athlete have anything to do with the charges brought against him. If there was another person that had a dogfighting ring the size that Vick had the authorities would be all over them as well. But him being a good human being???? Hell, Hitler killed millions of Jews but he was a good human being and he "just feel into a bad situation". Give me a break. Just because a guy is a great athlete and makes a mistake, if you can call the murder of innocent dogs a mistake, that he should not be torn apart by the media. Mike Vick did not have a problem with being put on a pedestal but Marbury justs wants the media to look the other way because he brutally killed dogs? Mr. Marbury you are a self entitled douche.
